ENCUENTROS USES A COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH TO SPANISH LANGUAGE AQUISITION

ENCUENTROS is a Spanish school in Cuernavaca that offers a total immersion experience and guarantees fast progress in Spanish.  Our fun, functional communicative approach to language acquisition emphasizes using the Spanish language in authentic and diverse circumstances. While understanding the grammar and the structure of Spanish is important in figuring it out, we feel that ample time must also be invested in using the language to make it more meaningful.   It’s like learning to swim: you have to dive in!

Our language school in Mexico offers opportunities for you to use Spanish in guided situations. During the Spanish grammar sessions of the morning schedule you learn the structural aspects of the Spanish language using a variety of creative materials and fun techniques.  Groups are maximum four students per teacher so there is plenty of personalized attention!  The Conversation/Pronunuciation class, Survival Spanish and Travelers' Spanish (for beginners) Charlas (talks on Mexico), and Visits which constitute the rest of the morning schedule offer the chance for you to practice what you learned in your Spanish grammar class. Optional afternoon activities and weekend excursions round out the program and offer you additional language practice opportunities.  Finally, living with a Mexican family, you use your Spanish in real-life every day circumstances. At ENCUENTROS, our Spanish school in Cuernavaca, (8) you experience the language twenty four hours a day! 

Speaking Spanish is the key to mastering it. The exciting spectrum of total immersion (7) opportunities at ENCUENTROS offers you the chance to live the language while you learn it.

During the morning schedule ENCUENTROS Spanish Language School offers "charlas" (discussions) about Mexican culture, traditions, history, and current events. Afternoons and evenings include Mexican cooking classes, films, and salsa dancing. Fun! 

For additional fees students can enroll in short courses offered in the afternoons by local residents including Mexican crafts and alternative medicine. 

ENCUENTROS Spanish Language School hosts trips to cultural and recreational sites. Cultural excursions include guided tours. We choose the sites according to the interest of the students present at the school--and enjoy touring little-known areas in the state of Morelos as well as more frequented destinations such as Taxco and Teotihuacan.

The cooking class was great and I hope to do it again next week. I also enjoyed the visits to the market and the fish farm. I’m really looking forward to the excursion to Teotihuacan this weekend.
